Welcome to the Historic Community of Irvington, located just inside of I-465 on the Eastside of Indianapolis, In. This charming community is boarded on the west by Emerson Ave, the east by Arlington Ave, the North by Pleasant Run Parkway, and the south by English Ave. Founded in 1849 as one of Indy's first suburbs, it was plotted with winding streets, parks and round-a-bouts. Helping to increase the popularity and sustainability of Irvington was the construction of the National Road (U.S 40/Washington Street) which allowed farmers and other tradesman direct access to downtown Indianapolis.
There are many different architectural styles found in Irvington- sure to please the most discerning buyers with an eye for historic homes. Some of the most noted are: Queen Anne and Victorian, Craftsman- including many surviving examples of the "Sears" homes, Revival Style, and Tudors. Doted in between the historic homes of the late 1800's and early 1900's are some homes built in the 1950's-1970's.
